Are they still WIPs if you haven't worked on them in years?

I adore this quilt; why can't I just finish it? Around the center Schoolhouse block will be small sampler blocks, like the Sam pictured. It's a little wonky from being folded up for so long.

Started before my son was born; he'll be 2 in November. There are a lot more blocks completed, but you get the idea. Inspecting, or just a camera hog??

OOOOo tedious and fussy, but so worth it. Thanks for sharing and give the purrpurr a pet for me.

Blessings, Ruth

Honey,
I've got WIPs that are over 20 years old, LOL!
Sometimes you just get on to bigger and better things, you know? We have to leave *something* to our children after all!

OMG - I love your quilt inspector - is he/she a Tonkinese?

Inspecting, or just a camera hog?? Probably 'yes'. (Both) Beautiful quilt. I have WIP's that have been waiting longer than 2 years. You get to them when you get to them. I like your quilts. Nice work.

I think if we are really working on it (designing, cutting, sewing, quilting, or binding) then it's a WIP-- WORK IN PROGRESS.

If it's sitting in a box on a shelf, it's just a UFO-- UNFINISHED OBJECT-- to me.

Jan,never a truer statement has been made.I agree wholeheartedly. If I could just make my DH understand,he sees projects and says why don't you finish that it is so pretty. One day I am going to suggest he finish it,what ever it is.

Jan ... When my FIL passed away I was given suitcases full of quilt tops (6) and a box of fabric and assorted blocks that his mother made (back in the 1940's). I have only finished a few, but the projects will keep me busy for years. Like you said, it was something to leave for the children and, believe me, they are so loved! Needless to say, I doubt I'll ever run out of projects!

Love both quilts and the inspector! And, it's perfectly understandable with a little baby to enjoy that the WIPs wait for you, and that's ok! Babies grow up fast! Just keep the WIPs where you see them and do a little bit here and there when baby is sleeping, you'll finish in no time!

I would venture to say that they are still works in progress!! :D Especially since you haven't finished them. I love your school house block, it is really cute. The other quilt blocks are just as nice. Someday you will get motivated to do something with all of them. Until then, ejoy looking ar your beautiful work!!
:D :D :D :D

Awwww, lucky you! I just got boxes of amazing needlepoint canvases, some half-finished, most with irreplaceable, unmatchable, vegetable-dyed yarns. I'd never finish them - though Heavens knows I tried! - if I needle pointed for the rest of my life, 8 hours a day!!!
Talk about an addiction -- this was my great-grandmother, and she was a world traveler/collector of fibers over 100 years ago. Some of these things are so hideous I can't imagine even a museum wanting them, LOL!

DDs are getting that stuff, too, poor babies! :P

Just do it! You will be so glad that you did.

Your WIPs are like a fine wine.....they are simply aging until the time is right to "open them up." Personally, I think my "wine" has aged a bit too much -- by now it's probably turned to vinegar!!!
