Wish Upon A Star Freehand Panel

Here are pictures of my latest project I have been working on the past couple of hours. Had some tension issues in the beginning but I think it turned out all right in the end. This is a flannel panel and almost makes me want to snuggle up with it as its starting to cool off here with a new weather front moving in. Terrible to say I could here the wind howling outside while my machine is running!! Thank you for looking.

Ooooh. I just bought that same panel to practice my FMQ. Yours has helped me figure out what I want to use as quilt motifs. What batting did you use? My panel and the backing I got are flannel, and I was thinking of just using another layer of flannel as a batting so it wouldn't be too warm.

I used Hobbs Polydown batting as I had a piece left over from another project that was just the right size.

Very sweet. Excellent job!

CorgiNole 11-14-2011 10:54 AM

Wonderful. I especially like the use of different techniques - like the pebbles on the star and the checkerboard border - and then using a simple banner around the words to set them off.

Cheers, K

Murphy, I too loved that song and poem. I wish I could find the song, but I did find a plaque with it written on it and it hangs in my sewing room.

I love the sweet quilt. Your work on it is perfect.

susieqgc1 11-16-2011 06:15 AM

Oh how lovely. I would love to be able to do this. I am the most uncoordinated person, feet and hands....lol. I can sew a straigtht line and that's about it. You have done a wonderful job and thank you for sharing.
