Wolves, wolves, and more wolves

My guild had a rummage sale recently. Donated quilt supplies were spread out over our tables during a regular meeting. Loose fabric was priced at $5 per pound, and kits, supplies, and pre-cuts were separately priced. I bought a lot of things - of course I did! - including a bag priced at $15. Inside were two magazines with patterns for making quilts with wolf panels. Also included were 9 (count them, 9!) wolf panels and lots of matching fabrics from the same line. I was able to make two complete quilts, front and back, using a modification of the design in one of the magazines for the front and my own design for the back. I only added the grey wide back fabric from my stash. One of the quilts will be sold at my guild's auction next month. I'm not sure what I'll do with the second one, but it will find a home. I'm showing just one of the quilts, front and back, but they are almost identical. The main difference is that the second quilt has two smaller wolf panels in the center of the back, instead of the large wolf head. And all this from a $15 bag, plus a wide back from my stash.

Quilted on my Innova longarm.

Great outcome, Dunster! The quilt is fantastic. That was a terrific bargain, and your talents made it (them) a beautiful result.

Now I like the whole story from the find to the finish. I saved your quilt picture so I could connect some stars like this for a QOV. Looks like it’s made up of a lot of HST’s. I just bought some wolf fabric but not as pretty as yours. Mine has a lot of white ‘snow’ in the background but I thought it might make a good quilt for a teen boy. Thanks for sharing your pretty finish.

I would think anyone out there would love a quilt like that, but males might really love it! . Lovely!

Wow! Hard to fanthom all this for only $15. But, really since you made 2 quilts from the supplies in the bag it came out to $7.50 each. That had to be the deal of the century! Beautiful work.
