It is spectacular. yes I understand about not wanting to ruin it as you go from step to step learning new things.

love the ribbons.....congratulations.

Kind of ... I had a yard of each of the 2 fabrics (tan and turquoise). I put the turquoise on top of the tan, and sewed my intersecting "circles" with just a straight stitch. Then I very carefully cut out the turquoise in every other section, so the tan showed. With stabilizer on the back, then I satin-stitched the edges.

I used several kinds of metallics from Superior Threads, including Ricky Tims' Razzle Dazzle.

Wow! I really like it! Is there a book out there so I can give this a try?

Jan,
Libby's original book was Threadplay; she has a DVD now as well.

Wow - this is beautiful!! Your color choices are perfect. I have that tan background fabric and love it!
Did you do this in blocks or applique?
I used metallic machine embroidery thread to embelish an applique recently. I was afraid it would jam up in the machine and not work, but it was perfect. I'm anxious to continue working with it and in different colors.
Great work and hugs congrats to you!
