Any suggestions to use up this large bin of Moda wool pieces?
I seem to have collected a ton and have no clue as to what to do with them? HMMMM, what was I thinking.......... Thanks in advance. Kathy |
Look at some applique patterns, they are cute done in wool.

oh my goodness- what a treasure trove!!!
i love working with wool- you can use them to piece a wool quilt- you can use them for applique(great thing about wool applique-no edges to turn under you can strip them and use them to hook rugs- you can make needle keepers/pin cushions out of them you can make a fabulous vest-or jacket out of them you can make a purse out of them you can make penny rugs out of them you can make table toppers out of them you can make hot pads out of them you can..... do what ever you want with them!!! |
You may want to swap with someone in a Cold climate , as wool makes a mighty fine and warm quilt.

My Mom (years ago) used to make wool comforters for our beds in the winter time. She just sewed blocks together and of course used the old cotton batting. Don't remember what she used for backing. Then tied them. We didn't have heat in our houses when I was growing up except for wood stoves. And lots of times our bedrooms were upstairs so no heat there. Those woolen comforters sure did feel good over us. We would warm a brick and wrap it in a towel to put at our feet. In Oklahoma some nights could be pretty cold. So if you live where you have cold nights you might enjoy a wool comforter!

What a wonderful assortment! I love wool and someday hope to have a great collection too. Applique is wonderful done with wool. I love to make coasters and coffee cup sleeves. The possiblitlies are limitless. Have fun!

All great suggestions. I especially have liked the applique I have seen done in wool.

Excellent suggestions!! Thanks!!! When I started collecting wool, I thought applique would be fun....however now, I'm not excited about it. Just have to get my mindset right for using this or move it on out of here. Kathy

I love the olive green and the blue in the 3rd picture on the left hand side. The green on the right hand side just peeking out on the #2 picture and the green, yellow and dark pink on the #1 picture. And the 2 blues on the 1st picture. They would make beautiful tops for pin cushions and needle holders. Hummmm If you can part with some, I'd be interested. LOL
