I finally started a quilt... first one in MANY MANY years! I decided to go with a very simple pattern, so I chose diasappearing nine patch. I am using Moda's Dilly Dally and added a few more prints along with it, one of them being a very cute owl print. It's so bright and cheerful. Not a great photo... but here are my blocks so far.
I am also going to try to machine quilt it ( I think)... if I feel that I am ready for that when I finish it! But for now, I do a block or two a day and I'm enjoying it and learning as I go. I think its going to be lap size.

Thank you all! I still haven't decided whether I will add a border or not. I added a bright green solid with glitter in it and I think I will use that as a backing because I have a lot of it. Time to put a few blocks together now! : )

What size is a lap quilt, usually? I can't quite decide how big to make this. Right now I am thinking 16 squares...4 by 4. Each block is probably ~ 13", so without borders it would be 52 x 52. I haven't decided on borders yet, but if I go with the 16 blocks, I only have 5 more to make!
