I want to make a "lightweight" quilt for my friend and I have these fabrics. I was thinking about the warm wishes but thought I would put it out here for other suggestions...must be fairly easy....thanks

How much of each fabric do you have?

willferg 07-15-2011 09:17 AM

I think Warm Wishes would be great!

QuiltnNan 07-15-2011 09:24 AM

it's a great color combo. can't wait to see what you make with it.

OK, Like someone said eariler, "How much fabric do you have?"
That being asked, here is a link to a lovely pattern from Clotilde website that I am going to use with a focus fabric I want to make for my son and DDIL. You can download the pattern to your computer after you pay for it. I like it a lot and hope this suggestion helps.

those fabs would be very good for warm wishes, i'd use the white in the center of the strip set so the purple and green will be the frames

Nice colors! Good luck on your quilt!

I have that butterfly fabric! It's one of my very favorites. :)

donnajean 07-15-2011 11:29 AM

My kind of colors. Here is what I would do if I had the fabric.
Sorry, picture uploading to QB not working for me today.

CajunQuilter2 07-15-2011 12:28 PM

I was thinking about maybe starting off with about a fat quarter size for the middle, then add a border of green, then a border of butterfly, then a border of purple.....?? not sure, it is hard for me to visualize like that.....what I think it would look like is usually NOT what it end up looking like......and that is not always a good thing. :-)

What about the Irish Chain??

quiltlady 07-17-2011 01:06 AM

What about a disappearing nine patch with putting the butterfly fabric in outer corners (remains whole) and the darkest color as the center block that gets quartered. The other two colors would both be in the center outer blocks.

I made the hour glass pattern for my sister using butterflies. It was my favorite of all the quilts I have made.

I can already "SEE" it. Warm Wishes is my vote.

I agree! The afternoon Delight is nice but would take more than 4 fabrics.

Did not know what "Warm Wishes" was but went to find it and I think it would be wonderful with these fabrics. Love the colors.

marykoch 07-17-2011 06:14 AM

I think warm wishes or DP9 would be just great.

I agree with kathy. Warm wishes wuld be great with those fabrics and putting the white in the center of the strip would frame the focus fabric beautifully.

I agree. It would be perfect for Warm Wishes. It was the first thing that popped in my head looking at the fabrics.

You are welcome for the link.
I know it would take more then 4 fabrics to do Afternoon Delights because that is all I have for the quilt I want to make using this pattern. I have to purchase a light fabric and I will have enough to do the quilt. I just thought it was a nice pattern for a focus fabric but so is the other. I agree Warm Wishes would probably be better if you are only planning on the 4 fabrics you have.

Autum tints 2 from Quilterscache.com would work well with this.
