Great work and so so pretty.
Please tell the QAYG.

The QAYG method in the book involves quilting each block as a separate unit, ie cutting backing and batting slightly larger. Then when enough blocks for a row are complete, joining them together by machining the front layer of the blocks together, then turning over and working from the back, trimming and joining the batting and then the backing, both by hand. When the rows are complete you then join them together in the same fashion. If you don’t like hand work then it won’t be the method for you. You are advised to use a patterned backing to hide the seams, but for reasons of economy I used quilters’ calico (it may be called something else in the US) which I found lovely and soft to the touch and adds to the cosiness of the quilt. I’ve added a photo of the back where four blocks join, so you can see that the seaming doesn’t seem to spoil the look too much.
Can I recommend another book for this method of QAYG, Carolyn Forster’s ‘Quilting-on-the-Go’? I also like this book for her suggestions for quilting, which aren’t too difficult, and I found really helpful.

Gorgeous! Especially love the borders. Will have to use the border pattern on a quilt. Beautiful color selection and hand work.

I'm on my way out to purchase the book--maybe I, too, can make a quilt as beautiful as yours. Thanks for sharing.

It's a beautiful quilt and has many blocks you don't often find in first samplers. You did a beautiful job. My first quilt was done in a class and was a sampler and I haven't done one since but having yearning to do another, so I started one last week.

What a beautiful sampler. On my to-do list - one day, maybe.
