Woven Ribbons
1 Attachment(s)
I pieced this over the weekend. It will be a snuggly ‘sofa quilt’ so will have a plush back also in green (to match sisters decor). I have pinned it all and will now begin my least favourite job of quilting.

A very effective pattern. Love the colours and fabrics chosen.

I used the same pattern only in Christmas fabrics. It was a very fun quilt to put together. Sometimes you have to watch directional fabrics. This will be a seasonal day bed throw. I like your green one too.

nicely done

I really like that pattern...it obviously makes up wonderfully in different colors. I love the greens/yellows and I’m sure your sister will cherish it.
BattleAxe, I like your version in Christmas fabrics too...great finish. |
I love the pattern. Every time I look at something I have not tried I say to myself, " I have to try that ". This is one of those. Is the pattern available in a magazine or where can it be purchased? Love your choice of colors.

Cute top!

I love the greens you chose. That will look so nice on her sofa. What a nice sister you are. By plush do you mean minky? Please post a pic of completed quilt and good luck quilting.

Love it, where can I find the pattern?

You are fast! Love the colors and the pattern. It looks so complicated!
|
Fun quilt top, your Sis will be happy!
|
Love the tropical fabrics you used in the quilt. It's so pretty & comfy looking.
|
It’s really pretty. I love that pattern too. My least favorite part is the sandwiching and pinning.
|
That pattern has always intrigued me.
Is it hard to do? |
love your woven ribbons! I made one of this same pattern ,using different fabrics, for my granddaughter as a graduation gift. she loved it too!

Here is the free download..... http://cloud9fabrics.com/wp-content/...nBoxQuilt1.pdf
It's on my list, as well. Watson |
Love your woven ribbon quilt. Great colors.
|
Lovely. What a nice gift.
|
That is such an interesting pattern. Your colors are great. I look forward to seeing the final quilt.
|
Lovely top...once you are over the Dreaded Part...it will be fun and done. Thanks for sharing!
|
Your quilt is absolutely lovely!

Thanks for posting up the link Watson - I wasn’t able to get on yesterday. Bearisgray - it really is a very simple pattern as long as you keep your piles for each row together. I’ve only been seeing 28 months and I did it all in a weekend (including the cutting). It is easiest if you use non directional prints but there were some I wanted to use so you just have to make those the horizontal rather than vertical ribbons.
The pattern says you have to use WOF strips and 1/3 yard of each fabric. I managed perfectly well with fat quarters which helped to make a little dent in the stash (although you do get a chunk of each FQ left over) |
Your quilt top is top notch. I look forward to seeing the finished quilt.:o
|
Very pretty.

Very pretty quilt and I know your sister will love it. So nicely done in those beautiful fabrics
|
Battle Axe-
I especially love your woven ribbons quilt too. Love the Christmas fabrics. I have seen this pattern made up in so many themes of fabrics and they are all so pretty. |
You are making great progress!
|
I made a ribbon quilt with Christmas Fabrics also. I haven't quilted it yet but I'll get it done before the Holiday. I'd like to make another for a nursery quilt. It was fun pattern to do.
