Saw this book at the Long Beach Quilt Show, and decided to make it to use up some of my scraps. The color strips are all 1 1/2 inch strips. This was a challenge for me because I'm not the best piecer I'm more of an appliquer. Seems kinda tribal to me what do you think?

Beautiful. I love scrap quilts.

You really learned a whole lot about piecing. 8 seams coming together in the middle of each block is pretty tricky to do. Your colors are fantastic. The background color really makes it POP!
|
Love the secondary pattern of stars. Your piecing looks great to me.
Your scrap stash made a very dynamic quilt. |
Sweet! Looks like a bunch of cheerful umbrellas seen from above... ;-)

I'm not sure what to do about a border. In the pattern book where I got the pattern there was no border. I have to wait till I can use my LSQ longarm so maybe I'll see what you do first. It was a fun quilt to do I'll probably do another one some day.

I think your quilt is a terrific scrap quilt. Beautifully sewn too.
