I purchased this sewing machine at a yard sale last weekend for $50. The lady said she had never used it. When looking it up on the internet I found out that it is "commercial grade". No wonder it sews at light speed. It came with quite a few sewing feet, but no instruction book. I tried to download it from the Singer site, but it won't download properly. Does anyone out there have a instruction book for the Singer CG-550?

Alot of it is like my Singer 50/50 the threading, button hole maker, and the side wheel looks just like mine but mine doesn't sew at 1100 stitches a minute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also came across a Singer site for manuals. It looks like there is a free download for that manual -- is this the one you tried?

Yes, there is something wrong with their download and I can't get it to open on my computer. If someone else can open it could you please send it to me as a document.

Thanks

The throat is 5 x 5, so probably not quite big enough to quilt anything large, but enough for say a baby quilt. If I can get it to slow down enough to see where I am going.

zyxquilts, did you get my PM?

Sweet machine!

My "best" machine was one I bought at a pawn shop for $50. Don't remember what kind it was, it's been too long ago. Sold it at my yard sale when I moved for $40. I sure miss it now.
