Go to the Home page and scroll down to Vintage Machine work shop. There are great instructions on refurbushing machines. I have one just like yours that I purchased for $15 with a treadle cabinet. I am restoring both!

I have one too (27-4) but I paid $89 for my machine and cabinet. It was in slightly better shape but not much.

Thanks for this information! I just checked and yes they are there. I do not know much about these so I am going to have to do a lot of research. I'm guessing it does not have the Needle Up/Down feature though... ;)

I learned to sew on a 27 treadle. I would love to have one. Have never seen one that has been converted to electric. The bobbin winder is supposed to run against the treadle belt. Even with a rubber wheel it will not reach to the hand wheel to work. Not sure how you would wind a bobbin unless you move the belt.

Have fun with your new friend!

It's beautiful!!!!!!!!!
Here is the link for the vintage machine section:

http://www.quiltingboard.com/virtual...jsp?vsnum=1013

It's a great section and you will learn so much about your machine. I do have a warning for you  ....once you buy ONE vintage machine you will then be infected by the very serious virus that causes you to start buying vintage machines, left and right, until you find that you are sneaking them into the house so that nobody knows that you have bought another machine.
