Beautiful job! Have you tried Lisa Calle's rulers for straight lines? They are fabulous! She has a great video. Just google her name and it will come up.

You two have created a beautiful masterpiece.

mary123 08-14-2012 02:52 AM

Beautiful quilt!!!!!
You commented that you use two batting on your quilts. Why?
You mentioned also that you used Hobbs 80/20 batting. Is that 80 cotton/20 wool?

snipforfun 08-14-2012 07:28 PM

Eveything Judi does is spectacular! I have had a couple of quilts done with 2 battings. Just depends on the look you want.

Absolutely gorgeous heirloom quilt to be treasured ...what an honor to be a part of this beauty. You both deserve blue ribbons for this masterpiece. So happy the thread do not cause difficulty. What type of betting did you use?.
love the pebbling.

Unbelievable... So squeamish work. Lots of colours but not too mixed. I love the ships. Just beautiful.

Jamin' Jane said it was a Masterpiece and I have to agree. It is one of the most beautifully detailed art I have seen on a quilt. I sit here in envy. Beautiful!!!

Oh my! What a stunning quilt, and a tribute to how beautiful quilts can be when the quilting complements the top. Gosh, I hope to see it in a quilt show this year.

Dawn227 05-11-2017 03:46 AM

every word I was going to say has been used so I will just say I'll copy them all!

Geri B 05-11-2017 04:41 AM

Since this was originally an old post, I wonder if it showed/ribboned anywhere. It is truly very intensely quilted. Which brings the question of why two batts when 90% is flattened out. I would think one would have sufficed, but I have never used two batts--have done some trapunto, but not the entire quilt. Also, is the longevity of silk thread as good as cotton or poly.....just questions that popped up when I looked at pic.

twinkie 05-12-2017 03:08 AM
