thanks to Dungeonquilter's tut I was able to do my own folded dahlia. There are a few things I need to adjust on the next one that I did not realize on this one such as using white thread instead of something to blend in when sewing down the squares and to use more contrasting fabric but overall I am happy with my first attempt. But I am already mulling over in my head several other colors to make this in for gifts.
THank you Dungeonquilter for such a great tut....... |
I think it looks great, great work!
I usually don't like green, but this is beautiful. Looks like a real flower from here.
Looks real good! I so "got it" after seeing her tute. Can't wait to make one too!
Very pretty.
very cute! don't know if i am "brave" enough to try this..
You did a beautiful job!! :D:D
Nice..I want to give that a try..its on the never ending to do list..LOL
Wow, your Dahlia has a totally different look than the others, most of which were softer gradiations.
I LOVE the way you've use all the different textures of green patterns for your petals. It's really very lovely. Will it be a pillow or something larger? |
i like the greens you chose...i understand the change from the white thread...but i think it gives it another design aspect...
great job! |

wow ! that is awsome !

I realize amore contrasting group of fabric is traditional for this, but I think I like yours better. It really makes the "flower" stand out from the darker background. Interesting idea.
Wowwwwwwwwwwww! Hey, if the friend doesn't like it,......
If the white thread bothers you - get a fine point Sharpie and make the white green! This is absolutely lovely. You did a great job with your color selection.

WOW! These folded dahlias are just "growing" all over this board! I've seen yellow, orange, green. Who's making a blue one?
