Has anyone, other than me, found it easier to make yo-yo's the old way rather than use the plastic maker? I can press fabric around a template, then running stitch around the edge faster than using the maker.

Well now there's no excuse to not have a good idea. I can see them in all colors and maybe sprinkle them with glitter or even attach some beads to them.

Hey now that is a good idea. Sometimes I get board using the maker so I'll try it this way too.

I have friend who makes yo yos constantly - we call her the yo yo queen. She would NEVER use the plastic maker ones and almost had a heart attack when I bought one - lol!

I use my old standby, cereal boxes but cover it with material and keep it narrow so you cannot see the back.

What do you use for a base? A florist wire base, or maybe a coat hanger?

Great idea! And lovely too!!!

I use a large cereal box but cover it with material and make it narrow enough so you don't see the back. Wire is okay but can scratch paint if you're not careful.
