That paper piecing was such good fun! I've had a very enjoyable afternoon learning how to do it!
I'm going to try to get the picture on of what Ive done so I apologise in advance if I make a complete mess of it. lol! ( my daughter was here to help me with the last pics! ...........here goes

ButtercreamCakeArtist 10-02-2007 10:43 AM

You did a fine job of paper piecing Karenmay. I can't believe that's your first attempt. :)

I especially like the one in the bottom left, with the roses in the fabric. They're all so pretty!

Knot Sew 10-02-2007 02:00 PM

I have tried several times ............not yet  :? Yours are great

Chele 10-02-2007 02:51 PM

Paper piecing was so hard for me to learn! I still get mixed up! The results are gorgeous, so I'm making it a rule to piece a block every week until I learn it inside and out. Otherwise I'll forget what I learned. I remember bringing my laptop to my sewing place and going over and over the instructions! What did I do wrong?!! Why isn't it working? I was so impressed when I finally got a block, that I have to master it! Maybe in 20 years?!! 30?!!

I'm in love with your color choices, BEAUTIFUL. Oh my gosh, it reminds me of a English Garden. I would say good-luck on your paper pieceing, but you don't need it. (From your Results), your well on your way. I guess Hearts are on point, sort-to-speak of. I'm working on a Valentine quilt, myself. Of course Hearts, but mine our applique. Also Thanks for your picture, Now I know the person that introduced me to ladyfingers and P&G Tips. Beautiful Job, Keep Sharing.

nanabirdmo 01-03-2008 09:03 PM

butterfly 01-04-2008 10:17 PM

I have never tried paper piecing either and want to real bad...need to find a shop locally that carries the supplies to teach you how :)

Feathers 01-05-2008 08:46 AM

Butterfly:
I have learned alot by checking out the following sites on the web which gives detailed instructions for every kind of quilting application you would ever want to try including paper piecing. On Quilterscache.com Marcia not only has a bazillion free blocks but step by step instructions on how to do EVERYTHING! Quilterscache is my FAVORITE site. I also found paper piecing patterns for blocks at www.paperpanache.com/guests. Check these out. You might find you don't need the quilt shop or other lessons to learn how to do a particular application. Good luck.
