You're All Heart
1 Attachment(s)
I have been working on this on and off for about 2 ½ years. There are 110 machine appliqued hearts in three different sizes, on 24 separate pieces of fabric. Each measured 9 inches before joining up. I decided that it would be much easier to applique them if the sections were on the small side. I originally was going to outline all of them in white, but that got boring in a hurry, so I have added a number of other threads to them. It will be a present for my husband Jim, when it gets finished. I do not have a date for that so it could be Christmas, or his next birthday.
Size 34 x 54 inches. Batiks and regular fabric. |
Really nice and original! Couldn't help but notice your a Bruins fan. I'm a Red Wings fan. At least it's hockey season :-)
|
I like the Red Wings also. I can easily root for them, if they are playing anyone but the Bruins. :-)
|
nicely done

Another lovely quilt and sweet idea for a DH. I love it and may I, with permission, borrow the idea for my own sweet DH.:D

I love your design. Very cute. That's a lot of applique!

I really like your hearts. Noticed you have a TN plate on the wall. I recently moved to OK from TN.
|
I love your beautiful quilt! I have also noticed the fish blocks and those are beautiful too! Thank you for sharing. :)

Lot's of love went into those hearts. Beautiful

beautiful piece. I'm sure you're glad to have it finished after 2 years. Since I participated in an applique class this summer at the Maine Quilt Show, I can only imagine how much time it took you to applique all those hearts... : )

I LOVE your quit!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been collecting hearts and scraps of red fabric forever with the intention of making a heart quilt someday. ( I like the multi-colored look much better.) Looks like "someday" has arrived. Thank you, Boston 1954, for wonderful inspiration. Your HappyHusband is going to go bonkers when he receives it!

Taco Mama, I like the people of Oklahoma, but I do not like scorpions. Yick!! I've seen 19 in the seven years here and everyone has been INSIDE the house. I miss Massachusetts so much. I miss the snow too. |
Love this one.

Lovely quilt...no pun intended!
