Zelda quilt
4 Attachment(s)
Just in time for Christmas. Just pulled this Zelda quilt out of the machine and delivered it today. The entire time I was working on this quilt, I thought it was for a grown man found out when delivering it it is for a four year whose name is Link.
While delivering this quilt to a bar during trivia night, tonight, I had a lady ask about the pieces in white that form the circle. And when I told her ‘no they were not made from a punch and all cut out by hand’ she was a little surprised yet impressed. People are often amazed with a quilters skill set. These young adults now want to take my quilting information (or business card so to speak) to Comic-Con and pass it around because they think I could make money doing these style of quilts. Flattering but I don’t have that kind of time especially if I ever wan to to quilt for myself again. lol! Enjoy the photos. You can’t see the quilting details very well in the overall photo so I have added the close ups as well. Merry Christmas Everyone 🎄 and Happy New Year 🎊! I hope you all have a blessed holiday season! |
Really cool quilt! Nice work.

Nice work on the quilt. I wouldn’t have guessed it’s for a four year old either.

Super job!
|
Great job! That used to be my favourite game!
|
Guess I'm too old to have a clue what game this is! Great work quilting!

For a 4 yr. old? I'm still making little bunnies, kitties and puppies for 4 yr. olds! :) |
Wow, great job..you certainly put a lot of your time and creativity into it.

WOW what meticulous work. Non-quilters have no idea the time and effort something with this much detail takes. I'm with you........no thanks in doing it for a business and I love applique and quilting details, but only for family or special people in my life. Even though I have no idea the game this refers to, I can appreciate the beauty and work!

VEry beatiful and rich in symbolism. I know nothing about Zelda except that my youngest son used to play it on his Gameboy. The quilt makes me think it is a druid cape or tapestry- has that quality of religious significance. If you decided to made a business of this, you can find ways to have the items die cut and hire others to help you sew it together. It really is a high quality work of art, maybe worthy of your consideration to make a business of marketing and selling other quilts like it.

That is the coolest quilt I have seen in ages. Good job! I want one. lol.

Lucky boy. What a wonderful gift.

Your work is great. I am sure the person who commissioned it will be thrilled.
|
Good job!!
|
So very interesting and unusual. I can see where ComiCon folks might be interested.
|
The symbols as relating to the game are probably well copyrighted and protected vigilantly?
Zero problem for a private project, headache to sell publicly. I never want to do for work what I do for the love of it. :) |
The person who loves the game will love this quilt.

No reproductions with being in violation of copyright laws. No way I would set a booth up at Comic-Con plus I don’t want to have to hire help to fill orders. I’ll just stick to my own stack of projects and there is already plenty on my to do list. |

Your quilt is fantastic! I will be making a Zelda quilt for my son. Just thinking of designs now. He is 31 and Zelda was a favorite game in our family. We even named our German Shepard (Princess) Zelda, who sadly had to be put down this week. She just turned 10 ys. She was an exceptional dog and friend. And a tremendous loss to us.
My son and his wife came up to visit us during Christmastime. I had just finished the BH mystery quilt, On Ringo Lake, and planned to gift it to them. I preceded the showing with the comment that if you don't like it/want it, please tell me, and I will make you something different. My son says, that's a very nice quilt, but if you are going to make one special for me, I'd like it to be a Zelda quilt. Okay. So while he was here, we searched Pinterest and online and have some ideas. I'm curios about your pattern for the icons. Did you create them or were they purchased? |

I copied the images from the internet that I wanted to use and then just placed them in this layout. I used the “Zelda” title and sword patterns I liked as a quilting pattern instead of appliquing them on. |
Great idea. Thanks for letting me know!
