I like the black but another color might look good...sometimes I take some fabrics and lay them under the quilt and take a picture then I can see it differently.

I don't know about the thread color; all the suggestions are good.

Such a beutiful and unique quilt! It just draws you in for a closer look. I myself would go with the multicolored binding. Thanks for sharing.
