Hi Ditter,
That's a good suggestion, but since I was using scrap pieces, I don't have enough for the material that was used for the horses. I even used a few of the bandanas that the groomer puts around my dogs' neck in a few of the smaller squares. I had been saving those for some time and the dogs never wear them and now that I'm learning to quilt I look at them in a different light...ha. I have plenty of the yellow and blue checked fabric.
