Default QR Code Quilt for oldest son

I'm working on quilts for both of my boys for their Xmas presents. I like reversible quilts. I'm making both boys QR Code quilts for the backs of the quilts. I had a lot of fun making this one. If anyone wants to make one, I suggest making strip sets. I did them in 4 strips - ex black, white, white, black... then another strip set of black, black, white, black, etc... It made assembling it A LOT faster.

Here's a close up of the fabric I used. I think both boys are going to love it

I used the free qr code generator here... and enlarged it to 600 pixels to make it easier to print and read. http://www.the-qrcode-generator.com/

This is so cool... I read the QR code, and it is a real QR code - a message from mom to her son - very cool and creative! (I hope you don't feel like I've invaded your privacy - I just wondered if it was a "real" QR code and so I tried reading it).
It looks like a LOT of work though!

No invasion of privacy at all. I should have posted what it says... his name, his favorite book when he was little and " I will always love you. Mom"

I just started on the second one.. and ya know what.. it really isn't a lot of work at all - if you strip piece it. That makes a huge difference

I wonder if these things will be like heiroglyphics of the future?

Very cool - I will have to look into that. I am thinking that some of the younger generation would get a kick out of these.

I *LOVE* this idea!! I wonder if QR codes will still be popular when my son is old enough to know what they are...

How clever. That might be a good idea for my grandson. He wants a green and black quilt. Great job!
