Quick one with my walking foot

I was looking for something quick and easy to work on this weekend while I wait for (sale) fabric to arrive via mail for two other quilt projects...I met a young couple at my son’s Coast Guard graduation a few years ago (another Coast Guard graduate). They were not able to get pregnant so they adopted a little boy about a year ago and it has been a heartfelt story. Just as wonderful blessings happen, she is now pregnant and expecting another little boy in a couple of months. I thought I would surprise the parents with a nautical quilt. That is adorable! I love the way the wavy quilting mimics the wavy water.

Thanks everyone...I purchased Jackie Gehring’s book “Walk” a few months back. It is very helpful and contains a lot of walking foot quilting ideas. Until I get a longarm, my walking foot will have to suffice.

Such an adorable & cheerful quilt and a happy, happy story! I, too, bought the same book (I believe as a result of discussion/thread on the QB) and am currently quilting one of her walking foot motifs
