I bought enough fabric for a runner 45" long. The pattern does say you can get two runners. Using an 8" 60 degree triangle you cut off the ends and are instructed to throw them away. I was able to make the octagons (or hexagons-don't remember much about geometry) from those triangles. I had one more piece leftover and made the short runner. The 1 1/2 yards of lining was not enough so I just used muslin for backing. No binding needed, just layer, stitch around outside edge and turn. Quilt following your design. I didn't cut them different on purpose, I just wasn't pay close enough attention to the directions. The pattern also includes directions for placemats. The octagons were not in the pattern, I did those on my own.

Except for the green border on the small runner, no other fabric was added. The print is a stiped fabric that you cut into 8 1/2" wide strips (2 for each runner and mirror the cuts)

The pattern is called "Easy Striped Table Runner" by Karen Montgomery TQC 272. www.thequiltcompany.com

The top pictues are more true to color. I took the pictures in different rooms at differnt times of the day.

The two runners from the pattern

Very nice! I almost like the ones you made up better than the pattern runners! But they are all beautiful. You made great fabric choices.
