I finished piecing the top yesterday. I can't wait to quilt this for him, but I'm in the middle of replacing my leaders on my longarm and adding a zipper system, so it might not happen for a week or two.

The original pattern idea came from the book "Scrap Basket Surprises" and the quilt pattern is "Bali Sea Stars".

I added sashing and cornerstones to make the starts "float" and the outer black and ivory borders.

Wow, that looks fantastic - I absolutely love it! Your colour choices work really well and I especially like the way the borders finish it. Great job! :)

Your quilt is gorgeous! I have that same book and I love the patterns in it, although I still haven't made any of them.

Beautiful quilt. I love your adjustments to the pattern to make the stars float-they really seem to. Great work and great colors. Love it!
