My daughter is in a costume contest. She is supposed to represent our little corner of Louisiana. Every year we have the Fur and Wildlife Festival. We opted to recreate the Queen's costume. On the back of the real cape are icons representing the main industries in our area. I made appliques, quilted them, and then attached them to the cape. She isn't all done up with her hair and crown, but you can see how well this turned out. And the best part--I combined elements of different patterns to create my OWN!! I'm pleased!

The contest is tomorrow night. Wish us luck!!
