    I agree with Shelbie. This quilt is much to beautiful to be used for learning how to machine quilt. The cost to have it long armed would be well worth it even if money is tight.

    My only suggestion would be to not overquilt....you have a very busy (and beautiful) quilt and you want the design you have created to show. Overquilting tends to make the design and fabrics disappear. Just my honest opinion :lol:

    Start by resting a bit. That is one large quilt and so labor intensive. It's gorgeous. Just don't take away from the pattern. Do any fancy stuff in the plain areas around the outside. Love it.

    Do you not have a long armer in the area where you live. There are some on this board I use rosemaynes.Your quilt is wonderful and a long armer could do such a fantastic job on your quilt .I have quilted on my machine 3 twin sized but was not happy with the results so king sized no way.Your top is really great.
