This quilt is beautiful. Is taking it to a long arm quilter a posibility? I don't think hand quilting would show to any advantage on this quilt and if you have never machine quilted before, I don't think I'd start on this one. This quilt deserves to be shown to its full beauty.

I have toyed with getting it long arm quilted, but the prices here are expensive - anything from £250.00 depending on the design chosen. I have machine quilted, but normally in-the-ditch, and stippling. I will have to take time to think about this one. :)

What is your skill level? It is a beautiful quilt, so I agree with Shelbie, don't try to machine quilt it if it is your first or unless you are very skilled at it.

If you really want to hand quilt it I'd start by SID around all the blocks and then take them one section at a time an appropriate design for each. A feathered wreath would be nice on the baskets.

Good Luck, can't wait to see it finished.
