I would hand quilt it if you have the space to set it up. Then you could draw the designs on with water soluable marker and change as you go if necessary. It is a beautiful quilt. Thanks for sharing.

Nice quilt. I have done SID on sampler type quilts. The only king size quilt I have done I did meandering. Perhaps this one could be SID on the blocks and meandering on the rest? I, too, do quilting on my home machine. To get it in the throat plate it has to be rolled very tight. I used bicycle clamps to hold it. Garden gloves with the little plastic knobs help with the maneuvering or the quilting gloves.

I also would outline each basket and handle. After that? hmmm, good question.

Wow! That quilt is just plain gorgeous. The machine and hand quilting all depends on what you enjoy the most. For me, hand quilting a big quilt like that by myself would be overwhelming. Also where I live it is usually hot so having a big quilt on my lap for a year is not something I would enjoy. I use a hoop. Also I like planning and piecing more so I would probably machine quilt it because of its size.

This is a tough one, can see why you don't know where to start.

First thing that caught my eye was the border. There I would stitch in the ditch around the basket blocks and around each of the baskets. In the larger setting diamonds I would do a pattern to fill them in, I see flowers in the fabric, so maybe a pretty rose motif, or feathers.

In the center of the quilt, I again would stitch in the ditch around each block and each motif, and then maybe a larger meandering around the off white background.

Hope my suggestion helps you, I'm sure there will be more to come.
I agree with these quilting ideas. Tis a gorgeous quilt!!
