Default Quilts for Kids

We now have a local chapter of Quilts for Kids. Here are some of the quilts that were recently delivered to the children at Memorial Hopsital.

A big THANK YOU to Scarlett (house director of Ronald MacDonald House) for getting us access to the children. The smiles on their faces were so very precious.

If anyone lives in or near the Kern County area and would like to join us, we're having a workshop on Saturday, June 16, from 10-2. Grace Baptist Church has graciously allowed us to use their facilities @ 2550 Jewetta Ave., Bakersfield. We meet every third Saturday of the month.

Kits will be available at the workshop. Just bring your enthusiasm, sewing machine, thread and an extension cord.

Please consider joining us. We are a small group of 10-12 but would like to see our numbers grow so that we can bless many more children with quilts of love.

For more information contact Robin @ [email protected] or you can PM me or respond to this thread. We're also on Facebook, search for Bakersfield Quilts for Kids.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope to meet some of you on Saturday.

...One stitch, one quilt, one child at a time...

Anne

My good friend started a Chapter of Quilts for Kids in our area. I really wanted to help her get thinngs going so as President of one of the local guilds I did a President's Challenge for 100 quilts in 3 months. I was thrilled when we passed the goal and had 105 quilts for her. She about fell on the floor when she saw all the quilts.

What a rewarding project. Keep up the good work. I'm sure the quilts put smiles on many faces, the children and the quilters. Peggy

WOW, what a great way to get things started. And just think of all of the children that were blessed by your guilds generosity. Fabulous!
