I'm now 83 years old, that was 60 years ago but I still think of her now and then.
We lost touch with each other for about a year. I kept writing to her but with no response back. Then I received the sad letter that her husband had suddenly passed away during that lapse in our writing. He was very young & she was left with 3 small babies to raise by herself. So it was during that grieving time for her that she did not write. So glad she wrote back to tell me & we kept up the correspondence.

That is so awesome to keep in touch with your pen pal! The friendship and quilt are such jewels! Both quilts are beautiful!!

I am glad to read that others have long standing pen pals. I have one since I was 12 and another since I was 14. I will be
84 in December. That is almost 72 years for the first one....a German girl who married a Frenchman and has lived in France ever since. The other lived in England. I saw and stayed with them in 1987 while on a trip to Europe.
