Hello from frigid Mid-West!

Awoke to -17 this morning and thinking Alaskan's have nothing on this! Am excited to join this group since I've been watching and ready for a few weeks and have already learned some neat tricks and have seen some wonderful ideas for quilts. Such experts! So neat to be around people who are in the know, too. Your enthusiasm is wonderful! Here is a picture of a scrap quilt I finised today. I'll be sending it on to my niece in Idaho to do the quilting and binding. The binding will be orange like the inside border. I'm just a beginner and I like experimenting so....

Welcome from Outside St. Louis - It has been real cold here also. At 11:35pm CST It is now 7 degrees. Our DGS,DDIL and DGGD left Fairbanks Alaska in Nov. 2009 and it is nothing for it to get -60 degrees up there.

I think if she is as cold as you are you can not send it SOON ENOUGH! Egad I would hand quilt just to have that extra layer on my lap. We are freezing now.. its 48 degrees and dropping at almost 10 p.m... brrr (I know shut the heck up).. well its cold and we havent turned our heater on yet. I made it the last two years without one I can make it another winter just fine. Layers its all about layers. Love those kitty layers. They lay on me here, they lay on me there.. that politically correct fur coat always helps!
