I got one of the two difficult flowers done and half of the main vine. I find that I just don't like using paper. I can't see what's happening underneath it and I think it's harder to keep it where I want it. The dark blue petal at the top is placed too far out and it's hard to judge that when the paper, and the part that will be turned under, is sticking out.

I resorted to the old fashioned way about half way through the flower. Took off the paper, turned under the edges, and basted it. THEN pinned it to the background.

Pam, just an idea but I put the papers on the wrong side of the fabric then do needle turn; I either leave a short bit unsewn to take the paper out if there's a straightish edge or if it's a complex shape, like your flower I'd make a tiny nick in the back and ease the paper out with a pair of tweezers.

It's looking fantastic, BTW!
