After all the blocks are assembled & put together, use a new pencil eraser dipped in acrylic paint for the dots. The little sticks are made with a rectangular eraser from Hobby Lobby, they come three in a pkg. in the art supplies dept. The idea and pattern is from a book by Jean Raye Laurie. Her pattern includes a template for the slash shapes and you use it to position the dots also. I'll have to look up the name of the book & get it on here later.
