Well, I don't have kids...but I hope some of my quilts will be on display in a museum somewhere and interested people can enjoy them for a long time.

What size needle, and what kind of thread did you use.

I used a 18" hoop on a floor stand. Because I only quilt in one direction I need to turn the quilt.
I mainly use John James Betweens #11, the quilting thread is YLI - both are my favourites.

I like quilting in one direction also, I use my thumb and quilt up.

I quilt towards my body... but I think it doesn't matter how you quilt and which method you use - the result is what counts.
