This we found in my Brother in law's home while cleaning it out after his death.
I believe my MIL hand pieced it, but don't know for sure.
Any way, I have no clue as to this having a pattern name.
The triangle pieces look to have been done earlier with an off white fabric & most of the blue white border was added, mostly hand pieced, later.
I would like to finish it, but asking for suggestions for a border/borders, maybe a miniprint with the 3 colors, maybe stars.
What do you all think?
Also I want to have it long armed, so will be looking for someone to do that for me. What range of price and I looking at?
It is @48x70 inches

I believe the pattern is Ocean Waves. I always prefer handquilting on vintage tops to keep the "vintage" look.

Hand pieced? Don't you think it deserves hand quilted too?

I don't have a suggestion for a border, but I see a flag wave pattern for the quilting. Very pretty!

Ocean waves. I have been wanting to make this pattern FOREVER, but was afraid to try all those triangles. What a great find! Too bad your BIL never had it quilted and enjoyed it; a lot of work went into this.

The Red White triangles are called Ocean Waves; and it is definitely worth your time completing. You might want to soak it (no twisting, no squeezing, no harsh detergents) to test it for color stability, to remove any odors, and to freshen it up before you change anything.
