Doesn't it make you want to spit when you see how some people treat old quilts :?:

Yep! And I'd do what Boston says, jump up and down and use a few naughty words.

Oh gee... I can't believe it! What are people thinking? It just makes you want to cry thinking how much work and money went into this quilt to have it treated like a rag. I am hoping my quilts are treasured, but I guess you never know.
Great quilt and cute kids. THey are pretty happy lying there on that quilt.

So glad you are saving these quilts....this one is certainly much too nice to cover up something in the back of a truck!~! Your kids look like they appreciate it, too. Good for you!!

Were you able to rescue any others from your uncle?

Okay, I think you need to have a talk with your uncle and slap him upside his punkin' head! Hope you get to go in and collect whatever might be valuable. Get him a cheapy chair and a bedspread from Walmart! He'll be just as happy with it!

My uncle is not easy to talk to. He is not someone I can just stop by and visit with. He would know that I am only coming over to get the quilts and the furniture and that would make him angry.

I will have to wait until my dad goes back to visit (which is about once or twice a month) and hopefully be able to meet up with him. My uncle is not going to let me take the chairs without my dad asking him to let me have them. He says he doesn't want to replace furniture if it is removed. My grandmother has an antique table and curio cabinet too that my cousin would like to see preserved.

I did say, "Oh my God" about fifteen times as I was carefully (so as not to tear the fabric) unhooking the bungie cords that held the quilt down across the coroplast. My dad just grinned sheepishly. I told him I was going to tattle on him.
