Love the overall look of this project! Since you asked about the leaves, I think it needs one/some on the right side too.

And where did you find that beautiful dragonfly? Or did you make it?
I bought some fabric that had some really pretty (color wise) bugs on it. There were several pretty dragon flies printed on the fabric. I picked one, cut the dragon fly out of the fabric, added the wire and then ironed fabric to the back and cut it out again. I didn't have any wire in the house thin enough but thought that the wire that is sometimes found in ribbon would work. I had some of that left over from Christmas. Sure enough, worked like a charm!

I went and looked to see if I had cut the salvage off yet. I hadn't. If anyone is interested the fabric line is McKenna Ryan's Silent Inspirations style # PN014. I think my fabric color is Claret? Hard to tell online. Batik's Plus has it on their website. $14 per yard - yikes :-0 I think I might get the fabric that would make a great water back ground and do an ocean scene.

While waiting for the picture to load (it's a bad day for my computer) I visualized a neat, traditional checkerboard-type weaving with maybe a kitty applique on it...cute, but just not my taste! I LOVE this!!!! The off-kilter checkerboard background makes the sunflowers and dragonfly just POP---and I love the fern border too. Something about green and purple for me.....
