For RGay: Jan's Mosaic Stars quilt

Promised for RGay; wish there was a way to post a pic in a PM so I wouldn't have to annoy everybody with this one again.

Simply beautiful!! I really like the blends of color in the lighter fabric, to me it appears to give an illusion of curves.

I hope those who have posted will check back here because I want to tell you all that the background fabric is a surprise to everyone in the workshop that I teach on this quilt. Wish I had a way to photograph for you.

It's a large - about 10" - FISH! in pinks, lavenders whites, pastels - nothing "pretty" about it at all!!

But it works for the BEST muckled up background in this quilt and was the theme print from which I pulled the other colors about 18-20 years ago when I first started this quilt. It was a UFO until about 2 years ago.

As is so often the case with my quilts, it is actually very simple to make, easy shapes, easy borders, just 4 colors not counting the narrow border. Maybe I'll post the border directions in the ebook I hope to write this summer.
