lOVE YOUR LOG CABIN. I HAVE MATERIAL READY FOR A LOG CABIN BUT HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO ACTUALLY DECIDE IF I SHOULD DO IT BY FOUNDATION PIECING AS I WOULD LIKE TO DO TRY THAT OUT AND KEEP ALL THE BLOCKS EVEN. DID YOU CUT YOUR STRIPS AND/OR HAVE YOU MADE A LOG CABIN USING A FOUNDATION BEFORE?? NICE COLOUR EFFECT YOU MANAGED.

What a touching story that you have to go with this quilt. It is a well deserved ribbon. Such a lot of work to make it. Very nice indeed!

Thank you for saying. I've done them both ways. I prefer paper pieced --- no matter how careful you are, regular piecing can still come out slightly different in size block to block. This quilt is paper pieced using 1" finished logs. It was a very random selection. Whatever I grabbed went next, except I wouldn't put the same fabric next to itself. This is a good one to get used to paper piecing. Linda Causee has a few books of patterns that are really nice. Have fun with it!
