It's almost midnight in S. Texas. My husband is even asleep and has not seen my creation. It is SO AWESOME to be able to come here and share! Thank you, thank you!

From this board: got the pattern (Warm Wishes); got encouragement as I rip, rip, ripped; learned to use numbered clothespins to know which row was which; have a plan for making the sandwich on a card table instead of on the floor; knew to starch and starch again; have 3 bobbins filled so don't have to stop and fill - can reload and go; and a million other things!

Great looking quilt. My GS picked out that racecar fabric at HL and wanted a shirt out of it , He could not be talked out of it. So I made him a shirt. He struts around with it and everyone notices him.

I can just see it! This grandson has several rather wild button up shirts - mostly Hawaiian-style prints.

I'm thinking - for future projects - that if the center stripe had been a solid black the other colors would really have popped.

Sew and learn!

This is my third quilt and picking out the fabrics is one of the things I still lack enough knowledge in. My first one was a sampler I made for a beginner quilting class. The teacher picked out the fabrics based on my choice of focus fab. The avatar quilt got taken over by the brown blocks. The ones that fade into the background are the monkey print that I had intended to be the focus of the quilt. It's fine and he loves it, but ... I'm learning. This one, too - but now I'll know it's not strobing - it has motion! :) I know the grandboy will be thrilled.
