Just the quilt top, but this is a top that didn't want to be sewn, or one that taught me to pay a bit more attention to how I assemble things. It's for a 3 year old grandson for Christmas. The focus fabric is race cars. I didn't realize the checkered rail would strobe quite like it does, but ... it is what it is!

It's gorgeous...I have a dress with a similar pattern (not the race cars)...used to have people doing a double-take.

This is a great quilt for a little guy. Love the black and white, and I'm sure your grandson does too. It's just perfect. Thanks for sharing.

That's awesome
What did the original b/w look like? That strobe effect is wild...

I love that quilt! Did you make a blue pillow case, too? Nice to have it match the quilt!

He saw some of the rows draped over the dining room chairs. We were sitting at the kitchen table eating and his chair faced the dining/sewing room. "Oooooooo! Do you see THAT?" "You need to keep working on THAT!" "It's okay if you finish your dinner first, Grammy, you really should finish your dinner." Don't you love 'em?

Yes - made the pillowcase, too. Love that pattern - cute and easy, what a deal.

I do think this can be his room for many years. I teach fourth and fifth graders and think boys that age even would be okay with it. My avatar is a monkey quilt I made for another grandson and know that it's time is limited to a year or two. But by then ... that one may have a little brother/sister who likes monkeys!

I chose that checker because I made curtains for his room using a standard checkered fabric and it was so hard to sew it straight! Wanted to avoid that problem. Here are the curtains that will be in the same room as this quilt.

His Halloween costume. I KNOW he'll love it!
