Love your fabrics and glad you could get them. At the WalMart near me when they remodeled they didn't mark down the fabric , they moved it to another store :?

And it is true about having to pay a person to cut the fabric and since WalMart is on a kick to cut back all expenses to increase the bottom line they are doing away with the fabric departments :hunf:

You had a wonderful haul. It's so sad that Walmart is dropping the fabrics.

They say they are going to sale pre cut kits, but probably not a big variety. I like being able to go get a yard of something if I need it. There are still a couple wal marts within 50 miles that have fabs. Hobby Lobby and Joanns, so I will just have to travel to get more. Hopefully I have enough to keep me busy for a while.

On a recent drive from Orlando to Tallahassee, I hit over a dozen Walmarts and only three of them still had fabric. One had marked theirs down as the store was to be remodeled the next week. I loaded up on batiks and other tone on tone prints. The actual prints they had left were awful. Sad day.

I have many of those same fabrics. I especially like the pink paisley one.
Sorry to hear about the fabric dept. Ours has been gone going on three years.

Well Sueisallaboutquilts, it seems like all of the Wal Marts are about to not have any fabric from now on. Ours is "remodeling" they say, but everyone I've talked to thinks that they are just getting rid of a lot of things, and replacing it with a lot of junk. They must have made a haul on some big foreign warehouse full of garbage, because they have a lot of that in our store here now. They put in a couple more coolersand instead of adding food, they filed one whole cooler full of beer. They were just permitted to sale alcohol at our store about a year and a half ago. We would probably boycott, but we are really stuck, as we have no other place to shop. They ran most stores out of business several years ago, and we shop there or wait until we drive 100 or more miles to do shopping. They had said they were going to put in groceries, ha! big joke. I don't think they have as much now as they did before all this Wal "Maze' started.

You do not need to have an employee to help you buy paper towels.

I noticed that HGTV and DIY did not listen when they took off Simply Quilts.

How many times can you paint a kitchen or sell a house, or plant the same tree?
Yours has a clerk??? I live about 10 minutes from a Walmart with a fabric department. I've only seen a clerk once or twice in the 6 years I've lived here. I usually flag down whoever I can - last time was stock clerk - and wait forever to get anything there. Mostly I don't bother and either go elsewhere or shop online. Once I walked by and there was someone cutting fabric, so I quickly selected some before she walked away! LOL

I hear ours will have fabric for another year or two. There's not much else around, so they do sell some at this store. Very little selection though. Never saw any precuts here.

At least you got some good-looking fabric. Our WM (1 hr away) is still stocking, but I don't know for how long. The area is smaller now.
