All I can say is "Wow!". Your quilt is stunning. I think the background fabric is a wonderful addition to your quilt. While that background may offer opportunity for the quilting process, it also offers the opportunity to keep it simple and let the fabric do the 'speaking'. I will be looking forward to seeing what you decide.

It's a beautiful scrappy! You must have some wonderful fabrics in your stash...what a daunting enders/leaders project, but so worth it.
