Default scrappy blocks

I am between quilts that I am making for specific people, so I started looking online for scrap quilts to 'play' with some of my scraps. My scraps are organized only by color and I have not cut them into specific sizes. I came across a couple of 'rainbow' quilts that I liked but I chose to do these half log blocks that I saw on this quilter's blog, http://eileen-themissingpiece.blogsp...s-therapy.html

The project was more labor intensive than I expected -- lots of cutting and trimming. I thought it would be freeing to not worry that blocks were an exact size until the end when I cut them down to 6 1/2 inches, but I'm not sure that it was! The blocks are on my 'design wall' for now but I'll probably make some more. I don't have a specific design in mind for the final quilt. But I did enjoy playing with my scraps

what a wonderful quilt in the making! Great idea organizing by color so that blocks are color coordinated .... mine are just stuffed into a sack waiting for inspiration to strike.

This is going to be beautiful. I wonder if you'll have the right mix of blocks to make a progression of color, say yellow on one corner progressing through orange to red to purple to blue to green? and maybe to repeat? I love quilts that go through the color wheel like that, but I never seem to have the right fabrics to make one.
