U did a great job. I get some of my scraps from women in my guild and other times the thrift stores. Their are so many possibilities

I start with the center strip (mainly I do black) and work of those edges. I don't have a certain size strip as the objective is to use what I have;> I use very small, probably an inch all the way up to an occasional 3 or 4 inch. No worries, no stress, easy peasy.
