    Default Using Children's Art

I was so taken with a piece of "frig art" I decided to gift it to the grandparents.
The colour was wonderful and the simplicity just made this a perfect candidate for a raw appliqued piece. The black crayoned outlines are couched wool. 2'x3'

Beautiful and special! What a great idea, translating a drawing into a quilt.

Cool! It reminds me of the painters Matisse's later art works in cut paper.

Frig art is children's school art attached to the refrigerator usually with a magnet.

Oh this is so sweet! A couple of years ago our guild president gave us the challenge of duplicating a child or grandchild's art in fabric. I had to make two so that neither DGD was left out, and made them into hot pads. After the challenge, I gifted them back to Mom and Dad along with the original art. It was so much fun!!
