Wow! GREAT string quilts! They are so fun! Well, here's my latest scrappy I call Twist and Shout, 66x75. Gone to charity already. It had a scrappy binding and was reversible but failed to get a final pic.

n2scraplvr, I might have to try that pattern. How wide were your strips?

I cut them 2 x 4.5" and corner block is cut 2.5 x 5. Made a template of the block minus the corner piece, laid it on top of my pieced Rail Fence and cut. Cut a 30 degree angle off your 4.5" block for your template. When sewing the corner piece, bear off before getting near the end so points aren't cut off. Wish I had done that as I did cut a few points off. Have fun!

Thanks so much, Linda and Bev!! I love the QS scraps, Linda!

Ladynredd, I forgot to say to square those blocks back up to 4.5 so everything will meet nicely! There are some verticals that will meet head on when blocks join! Have fun with it!

Took me a while to see it, G, but it sure does when you look at the 4 upper blades. When you look at all 8 blades, it reminds me of windmills in Holland!

It went to the Sandy victims in NY and I like the pattern so well that I'll probably do another. Only took 2 weeks to make. Oh, and I MQ around each of the stars so they popped out even more.

hint: focus the eyes between the star points everyone to see the heart or windmill.

N2 - That gorgeous quilt came briefly into our apartment - and is now wrapping a wonderful lady named Diane, my dear neighbor. Five years ago her house burned down and now she lost it again to Sandy. I can't tell you how much these quilts mean to those of us who lost our homes and everything in them. Thank you so very much.
