All of the latest posted scrappies are gorgeous. Especially love Grammy Dwynn's. I am drawn to the color combo with the black sashing. Thanks for the eye candy.

Krystyna, thank you for posting the website ( message # 2310) for the mile a minute quilt tut. It looks easy enough even I should be able to make one. My granddaughter came for a visit recently and brought a large bag of cotton remnants to me so these along with mine should make short work on one of these quilts.

Just discovered this amazing thread, and still have about 100 pages to go. These quilts are simply amazing. I've only made a few scrappy quilts and I often have trouble "letting go". My MIL is a master scrapper and she is a great source of encouragement for me in all my quilting endeavors. I will take a few pictures and upload some of my scrap quilts, though 2 are still works in progress.

They are all beautiful but #1 is my favorite. I have never made a scrappy but after seeing #1, I may give it a go. Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Okay, so it looks like I have 3 works in progress among my scrappy quilts...1) One of my earliest attempts at quilting...a log cabin arranged in the star pattern, scraps sorted simply as darks & lights. I set this one aside because I was unhappy with having to piece the yellow border strips. 2) A scrappy US flag inspired by a pattern in the Keepsake Quilting catalog years ago. This quilt was my first attempt at hand quilting and is about 80% complete (quilted in the ditch). I also plan to quilt some stars in the blue patch. 3) A baby quilt that I started 3 years ago for a certain child that was expected...I had different plans than my friends...I was simply going to leave the ink drawings and tie the quilt...however, various friends talked me into embroidering the pictures (I only added embroidery in certain places and only on 5 of the 9 blocks)...then they convinced me that I had put too much work into the quilt not to hand quilt it...my mother-in-law even got involved and helped hand quilt the patch work and outlined the main figures...but I still want to quilt in some more details on the drawn blocks. I've included a couple close-up shots of this quilt as well. Now, I need to decide if I'll still give it to this Noah or look for another one . Plus, the couple has 2 more children now.

Though I believe that my list of UFO's outnumbers my list of finished projects, I have completed a few quilts that fall into the scrappy category including my scrappiest quilt ever...my millennial charm quilt which I gave to my daughter (1). This quilt clearly shows my control issues. My mother-in-law made the most beautiful millennial charm quilt with black sashing that looked like stained glass by randomly placing her squares together...while I played on my design wall for weeks. (Of course, the two of us had great fun collecting 2000 different pieces of fabric which we cut into 2-1/2" and 2" squares. Then we had the whole family (10 people), go through the material laid out by color on tables in her 3-bay garage to ensure that we had no duplicates). 2) This is the first quilt that I ever finished (tied), I call it "Frog Jump" and I designed the block myself out of squares, rectangles and HST. I gave it to my nephew when he was about 5 and now he's in college. 3) This is a baby quilt that I made for a friend when she was expecting her third child. I had this animal fabric in my stash that looked like a child had scribbled the animal in crayon which I fussy cut...the colors and scribbled lines inspired me to go wild...bright colors, and angled lines, in a sort of crazy quilt or string quilt fashion (but with no foundation), I then added fancy machine stitching in all sorts of colors along many of the seams. It was the wildest thing I'd ever done and it was both scary and fun. I'd like to do it again sometime. I don't have a close-up of the quilt but I still have some of the animal fabric so I included a picture of it as well. (4) Lil' Monkey Face, was also constructed in a scrappy style though much of the fabric was purchased specifically for this project.
