I just like the way it looks
have you found a pattern yet? i fell in love with the jewel box pattern 30 years ago when i learned to quilt. and i still haven't found the time to make it. do an image search on your fave search engine, i don't use google, & there's many sites that have the pattern for free in tutorials. it's a strikingly beautiful quilt that is sooo simple to make. pm me if you don't find a pattern.

Is this the pattern you used?

You could also do this same pattern starting with a QST in the centre, then continue as a log cabin or courthouse steps. Then cut into quarters to get the same look as you have with the above.

For more scrappy-ness to either patterns, you could do each side of the block a different fabric instead of all the same on each round.

Yes, that is the tutorial I used.

I have seen this made with a jelly roll too but I think the using of different size scrappy strips really amps it up.

I love Jean Madan's blog for ideas.

Here are a few tops - not yet completed due to christmas efforts - that I pieced in the early fall. These are for my guild'scommunity quilt program.

i'm working on xmas sewing now, fall was spent still laying brick & hauling/leveling dirt ...can hardly wait for holiday sewing & traveling to be over for the winter & i can get back to my own quilting wanna-do's
