Wow, Shadow did you say this is only your daughters 2nd quilt? She certainly has your talent. Lovely quilt.

I love the old fashioned look of it. Very pretty.

Thank you all for your kind words. :) This is her quilt, she wanted a Christmas quilt to work on. She used to spend hours watching me sew, it seems she was storing all that information for when she was ready to put it to use. lol

It amazes me when you all say here is what i did over the weekend.......heck a whole quilt.......I feel good if I get 3 blocks completed........I must be doing something wrong....maybe going for that one hour walk.....or pulling weeds today or maybe it was sanding down the swing to restain.....guess there are truly NOT ENOUGH hours in the day.............great mother daughter and grandbaby bonding time....good for you.

My daughter always wanted to quilt but she just doesn't have the talent! She tried to learn to hand sew when she was growing up and she has tried a few times to master it but she just doesn't have the ability to do more than hem curtains. She doesn't have the patience. And I am not talking about minis but any kind of quilting. She admires it but it isn't her passion. She is an oil painter and she crochets very nicely. She has made many baby afghans for friends.
